The Gede ruins are one of the few historical sites in Kenya. You visit the remains of a town abandoned in the 17th century, among baobab trees.
Optional: At the start of the visit you meet the many monkeys that live at the site: you can bring a banana.
Depending on the tide, the island is reached on foot or by canoe, on the way out or on the way back. You cross the coral reef and walk on the white sand atolls.
At low tide the rocks and the sandbank form a heart shape, visible to the naked eye. There is time to sunbathe and relax.
There are sun loungers on the beach (for a fee). At low tide a clean sand island forms where you can sunbathe. Sometimes you can see small sharks.
Optional: If you want to stay for sunset, you can have an aperitivo at Lichthaus (extra charge).

A visit to the new town and the old town, the local market and the monument commemorating the landing of Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese explorer who arrived in Malindi in 1498.
On the way back, a stop at the Malindi wood factory, where you can watch wood carving and buy typical souvenirs.
The Marafa canyon, also known as Hell's Kitchen, has high vertical walls, reddish spires and stone pillars up to 130 metres.
You walk through the gorges and valleys of the canyon, then head back.
From Watamu you set off on a small boat towards Mida Creek, a nature reserve with mangroves. A stop in the marine park for snorkelling among tropical fish.
Lunch on Sudi Island with grilled fish or chicken.
Optional: After lunch, if you like, you can take a canoe trip in the lagoon and through the mangroves (not included).
Illustrative photoFrom Watamu you go by small boat to Sardegna 2, a sand atoll that forms at low tide. Depending on the tide, part of the way can be done on foot across the coral reef.
A short snorkelling stop, then time to relax and sunbathe among the starfish. Lunch with fresh fish, then back.
On the way, a stop at Sheshale, known as the "golden beach", where you can swim.
Then by boat to Robinson Island to relax and have lunch at the restaurant among the mangroves: Robinson red crabs, clams, mussels, oysters and prawns.
